Artist's Statement
I am greatly influenced and inspired by the natural flora and fauna of the wild and not-so-wild places I have encountered throughout my life, along with human-made found objects. My work is an attempt to create visually compelling pieces that tell stories of the materials used to create them. Recreating in the outdoors, preferably far from human population centers, working as a professional ski instructor, ski patroller, and park ranger as my "day jobs" for a number of years while pursuing my art have offered me the opportunity of spending large amounts of time in the natural world, where I find peace.
